You and your spouse, if you have one, should attend parenting classes. Most important, you absolutely must be sure you are financially able to afford adopting a baby.

Be sure you screen all the agencies you are considering very carefully before handing over any money or signing any contracts. You must also be sure that your home and your finances are in good order before you attempt to adopt an infant.
